About Translation Quality

The previous examples of mistranslation are not intended to highlight the subject of this article. They are just extreme examples, good for a chuckle. Translation quality is serious business, particularly in the case of  highly sensitive materials, such as medical and legal documentation, that requires precise interpretation of the source text and sufficient knowledge of the topic to be able to produce an accurate translation. Translation price takes into consideration the sensitivity of the materials to be translated.

As with all other industries, the translation business in the midst of a price war fueled by the Internet. Clients who search for a source of translation based only on price, will very likely find the price they are willing to pay. Buyer beware - A very cheap translation can be very costly if fails to convey the message of the source text, or even worse, misrepresents it. A good translation partner can spare its clients a great deal of aggravation and save the time that the client would have to spend managing a translation project, particularly when two or more languages are required. In addition, a qualified translation partner can recommend and implement technical and linguistic solutions and save the client maintenance cost over the life-cycle of the localized document, software, web page, etc.
